OUR UKE-101 WORKSHOP WILL HAVE YOU PLAYING SONGS IN LESS THAN 3 HOURS Play the world's friendliest instrument in 3 hours no matter what your musical background. You will be playing songs by the time this workshop is over, and ready to approach almost any tune on your own with a little practice.  THINK OF IT AS LEARNING TO HAVE FUN! The uke is fun to play, fun to take with you, fun to share with friends and family, fun to learn and fun to explore. The ukulele is ABOUT fun so that's how we approach learning to play it! While detailed and disciplined, our workshops are presented with an energy and animated style intended to reflect every bit of the light-hearted essence that IS our little pal with 4 strings. PRESENTED BY ONE OF THE GUYS BEHIND THE CORKTOWN UKULELE JAM Uke players from the GTA and beyond congregate Wednesday evenings at Toronto's legendary Dominion on Queen pub to trade tunes, jam and perform. UKULELE HIGH events are presented by Steve McNie, co-founder/organiser of the popular Corktown Ukulele Jam and cujamWEST. GET THE INDIVIDUAL ATTENTION YOU NEED Participation in UKULELE HIGH sessions is limited in order to offer and manage the individual attention you need. We will preceed with a scheduled session upon attainment of a minimum number of registrants for that workshop. Those numbers vary according to the workshop being offered. For example, UKE-101 is limited to 20 participants, with a minimum of 15 in order to proceed. WE FOCUS ON DETAIL There is nothing to be gained by practicing mistakes. We pace our presentation to get you off and running with a clear conceptual understanding of what we are teaching. We maintain that it is important to know what is behind what you are learning. You only need to do this once ever. Subscribing allows you to choose from a comprehensive menu of torontoUKES event offerings, including UKULELE HIGH workshops. You only receive information on the offerings YOU wish to hear about. We NEVER sell/share your information, or use it for any other purpose that the torontoUKES activities you subscribe to. After you subscribe, we will inform you of upcoming UKULELE HIGH offerings from time to time by email. Each announcement includes full details and a link at the bottom that you click to indicate interest in registering. When you register, please be absolutely sure that if we attain our minimum class size, you are committed to attend because class sizes are limited and you may be preventing someone else from registering. We will let you know by subsequent email when a class is confirmed and offer two payment options: by cash or by Paypal, at least 2 weeks in advance of the workshop in either case. Unfortunately, we can not offer refunds for any reason whatsoever. WHERE & WHEN? We conduct workshops across the universe, but the UKULELE HIGH "Dominion Campus" in historic Corktown Hall is where we make our home. (the Corktown Lounge at Toronto's legendary Dominion on Queen pub) 500 Queen Street East Toronto | MAP On-campus food and drink is top drawer and if you're fortunate enough to attend a workshop there, we invite you feel free about enjoying a pint during class.
