"He put you through your paces, but he makes it fun!" ukuleleHIGH is the brainchild of Steve McNie whose strengths include business oversight, presentation, performance, teaching, organization, and community building. He managed multi-platinum family entertainers Sharon, Lois & Bram for 7 years and worked in various marketing capacities for CTV, CBC, PolyGram, A&M Records, Walt Disney Home Video, Warner Music, Canada Systems Group and GRT. Steve has taught advertising and digital media at Sheridan and Centennial College, and presented extensively to several of the world's major brands and their agencies for CTV and CBC Television. Having studied it formally at the University of Toronto and Royal Conservatory of Music, it is to the cello and mentor Daniel Domb that Steve owes much of his sense for music. He is a founding member of the Corktown Chamber Orchestra, plays bass and accordion in The McFlies and is the leading force behind Toronto's popular Corktown Ukulele Jam. |
Steve balances music with other diversions like skiing, sailing, travel, food, wine and the pimped out vintage Vespa he gets around on when it's nice out.
